A little bit hip-hop, a whole lot of searing observation and soul… poet and vocalist Ebony Booth sheds light on black feminism, racism and inequality, social justice, and, most importantly, self love. Her captivating performance style is swinging, humorous and HOT.

Enjoy a stimulating night of Poetry in performance– colored by the brilliant jazz accompaniment of the John Rangel Trio and saxophonist Alex Murzyn.

"Where jazz intersects soul, there are few more satisfying stylists than vocalist Nicolas Bearde, a richly impressive amalgam of Bill Withers and Billy Eckstine."

Drummer Lorca Hart has performed or recorded with a veritable who’s who of the premier West Coast players– Bobby Hutcherson, Freddie Hubbard, Stanley Jordan, Hugh Masekela, and Azar Lawrence to name a few. His trio also features two of the most sought after players on the West Coast scene– pianist Josh Nelson and bassist Michael Glynn. Nicolas Bearde, one of the foremost male jazz vocalists on the scene today, sings in a style that blurs the lines between jazz, blues and soul.

We are sad to report that our two April events, shown below, have been either postponed or cancelled due to the Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak. We're taking this step in accordance with the Public Health Emergency Order issued by NMDOH, March 12, 2020, which prohibits mass gatherings of 100 people or more. We hope that by doing this, and  the other personal distancing efforts we all can practice, the community transmission of the virus can be minimized.

Now it's time to dig into your collection of CDs, LPs and jazz radio– and KEEP THE FAITH! We will be back with more music when it seems safe to do so. STAY SAFE and SWING ON!
